Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The fluid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Officers then discovered multiple other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the substance was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no lead as to its source; authorities are currently not aware of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the community for tips.
An important official stated the incident rendered him speechless and needed to be resolved promptly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the murder of nine victims by a assailant aiming at people of immigrant origin in 2020.
